so over at www.satiricalblog.com I've been learning various ways to overcome my natural lack of ability to draw. But I've had an idea for more of an ongoing serial cartoon which is going to need me to develop more characters that will interact with one another and their environment etc....

This was going to be done in my normal trace/vector style but then I stumbled on this little vid (only 6 seconds long)...



It was done using a open source program Blender to create the 3d model and animation with a plugin called Freestyle providing the Anime drawing feel.

So having downloaded the software (here) and looked at a few tutorials I'm going to start off small and  try and create a simple character which I can then pose and render.

Hopefully this will teach me the steps I need to then take it on to develop more complex characters.
...and I kind of enjoy learning new packages/programmes.

Anyway here is the 1st little chap I'll be creating (hopefully)...

...and I'll chart my progress here each week.

Moving house

Evening Bloggerati,

So life should be returning to normal soon, work is calming down and i'm slowly getting back into blogging.

Breaks are good from time to time and i've a few ideas for stuff to post here, plus using this as a dumping ground for all the other stuff that goes on day to day.

Anyway in other news I'm moving house...yay :)

...and for the first time in 20 years there isn't a thing I need to do to it, except maybe tone down the vivid pink decor.

well April is over and the demands of the A-Z challenge are now a fading memory.

It was tough going at times - both in terms of thinking up ideas for posts and then finding suitable pictures to base cartoons on, but I made it through. It has taught me the wisdom of saving my work frequently as I lost two (almost finished) pieces of work due to computer crashes. Time to get a new laptop I think, or that's my excuse.

So now the question remains of what next?

It was good having a focus and theme for posts which is something I want to work into Satirical Blog on an ongoing basis. However I think maintaining content on two blogs might be a bit much over the coming months and I suppose I've lost my way with this corner of the web this year...but I'm going to have a think and see how I feel in a week.

Anyway, happy blogging one and all :)

Me And My Thinking Cap - Transgender in Miss.Universe controversy

But now I'm back to civilization there are no more excuses.

Transgender in Miss.Universe controversy:

"A rule change that would allow transgender women to participate in the Miss Universe beauty pageant next year is a step forward for equality, advocates said Tuesday after pageant officials announced the policy shift." one other reason why I hate the Trump empire.

Miss.Universe, remember Carrie Prejean episode, where she had to give up her crown for speaking her mind?

Prejean was asked by pageant judge gay Perez Hilton, whether she believed every US state should legalize same-sex marriage. She responded,

"Well I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that, I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman"

I dont think she is a homophobe even if she was, no where near any of the Trumps. And why Miss.Universe contestants have to always say "World peace", wear "plastic smile" and be anorexic and parrot the already made up answers? Shouldnt they be allowed to speak their mind? Use their brain?

I wonder maybe the judges have to ask a question and expect the answers listed in same sheet, if any other unexpected answer was given that had to be counted as sacriledge and discounted? If they didnt like any answer than yes, why would they allow the question to be asked?

I dont think allowing transgenders to compete in Miss.Universe is fair. I dont think it is discrimination or anything.
- If a gay women arent allowed to participate that is discrimination and that is wrong.
- DADT is wrong.
-Not allowing women of specific country is wrong.
- Not allowing women of specific race or religion is wrong.

Miss.Universe contest
It is Miss.Universe for goodness sake.
Contest to humiliate and undermine the self-awareness, insult the sexuality and heighten the insecurity and play with stereotype game and force women to look and feel good about themselves in a "chosen" way.
Miss.Universe contest would dictate the height, smile width, weight, skin tone, age and even answers for stupid questions and all such but not your gender or sex? Bite me.

Gen.Universe
I am all to have another category like instead of Mr.Universe or Miss.Universe ,maybe Gen.Universe to accomodate more choices , appreciating own forms of beauty.

1. For all body building women like Mr.Universe
2. Feminine looking cute men - Tom Cruise, Orlando Boom.
3. Transgenders, post op men and women
4. Plus women, Mature models


Sports :
In sports we have separate categories for Women and Men. The rules are different, we cant totally scrap off the fact that human can be born either as a male or a female and with distinct features to differentiate and if human race is evolved and civilised to challenge nature, I am all for it, but trying to monopolize and insult and go on mission to change and fight nature is not a good thing, challenging maybe.

Tennis has different rules for Men and Women
Shot put -metal balls have distinct weight for men and women. I dont think it is discrimination I feel that it is way to appreciate and honor the gift of nature and distinctness in nature.

Dont put words into my mouth that I say that women are inferior, I am not saying that. Having uterus doesnt make someone inferior.

Anyway I could relate to the insult and hatred India and Indians could spew on women, when they do something other than cooking and cleaning and popping out babies. During my schooldays, the competition used to pay local thugs to come to sport events to humiliate and spew hatred and laugh at the crude humor on the other team. And no one would stop them, no cops, no media nothing. And this usually happens only for women team. So, even the talented ones would not try to participate. Whatever, I dont know how the situation is now, but it was so then.

Back to topic, where will this end?

Nothing about insecurity or level of tolerance or anything but this is just plain ridiculous.

Public toilets will have to allow both genders here forth?
Dresses shall be forced to be unisex all time?
Are we trying to scrap the entire male, female ie blue and pink and push everyone towards yellow?

What is this another homogenization attempt? We managed to become more civilized against homogenization attempts by religion, race, color,tribe, language etc., but now sex is it?
