Some might have noticed I've not been around commenting and supporting as much as I'd like...hell even posting stuff has been a little sparse.

Why? I here you ask...at least you do in the little imaginary blogging world I have in my head

Well because of this little fella coming into my life... 

I've given him the blogging alias of Fleetwood mainly because I love the band Fleetwood Mac and always thought it would be an awesome name.

Anyway little Fleetwood is being remarkably well behaved and is even sleeping through the night already...well mostly.

Once we've got into more of a pattern with things I should be back to blogging normal...whatever normal is :)

A post with no point...

I've not been around for the past week as I've been making a concerted effort to get stuff sorted.

I used to be one of life's great procrastinators and bumbled through life with the mistaken belief that the things I wanted would somehow fall in my lap.

Life ain't that easy....or so I've learnt.

Good things take hard work or a lot of luck...and you can't count on luck.

So it's been a good few years of concerted hard work - and things are finally getting where they need to be. In a way it's odd to think that in such a short period of time things have turned around so much but that's the thing with change - it tends to snowball.

I've never been a blogger who delves into the deep and meaningful, never being able to find the words to express things but I'm going to try...for no other reason than having a record of things as they change.

So new beginnings...
Times are a changing...
Just keep heading for the light...

well it seems that raunchiness beats royalty hands down with another victory for Ms Hendricks.

Although some were torn between the two:-

• Melanie - Ummm, neither.
• Jay - hmm...tough one...

For the majority it was a simple choice:-

• That Bastard From Bellingham - A voluptuous goddess versus Lady Skeletor? No. No, I'm gonna hafta vote for Christina again.
• Mr. Lee - Christina.. simple decision here..
• Bio - hendricks all the way man not even a competition

Who can beat this scarlet lady....?

Maybe it's time to break out the big hollywood hitters... so up steps Angelina Jolie.

Blender update.

So I'm still struggling with Blender and the myriad of key-board short cuts. It doesn't help that different keys do different things in different modes depending on where your mouse is at that point in time. But I'm getting there slowly.

After creating a few meshes and looking at the basics of rigging I thought I'd save myself sometime and see what models were already available with a lot of the work already done.

Luckily Blender has a great and varied user community who are all bought into the share and share alike philosophy.

So here are some great places to find free models:-

Blender Swap - http://www.blendswap.com/
A great community site for people to upload their models and download any that take their fancy.
The site requires registration before you get to the good stuff but then you have access to a vast range of models on almost every topic you could imagine.
Everything is logically categorised with an easy to use filtering system that allow you to refine your search or just see what's popular. Their staff also pick out the best models each week for their 'Staff Picks' - genius.
There is a 100meg/week download limit, but this is plenty given that most models are only around a meg in size.

Kator Legaz 3D Models - http://3dmodels.katorlegaz.com/
This site shows off the work of two blender artists Andrew Kator & Jennifer Legaz and in their 3dmodel section they list all their models, textures and lighting rigs that they use.
Although more limited in scope (as it only features their models) they cover some useful areas in a lot of detail.

So using the above resources I've started playing around with creating a scene, playing around with the materials and textures to give it a cell shading effect as well as using the 'Freestyle' blender add-on to also produce a cartoon outline.

So here are the results of this weeks playing around wit Blender.

The movement of the character isn't anywhere near where I want it to be and the shading needs work but it's progress.

Well it looks like there is no stopping Christina Hendricks who convincingly beat poor old Charlize.

For some it was simply down to aesthetics:-

• Ray Rousell - Hhmm? difficult choice???? Big booby girl Christina gets my vote!
• The Angry Lurker - I'm afraid it's Christina again, Charlize is a munter!

While others had different motivations:-

• Tony Van Helsing - Christina, Charlize has a stupid name.
• Insomniac #4 - Christina Hendricks gets my vote! 

For what ever reason Christina survives another week.

So given that it's the Diamond Jubilee I thought I'd add some Royalty into the mix in the form of
Kate Middleton.
